It is increasingly clear that no matter which party is in power, so long as our national security needs keep rising, an economy hampered by restrictive tax rates will never produce enough jobs or enough profits.Remarks to the Economic Club of New York, December 1962, John F Kennedy

Texas state representative Steve Toth is filing legislation for a "Firearms Protection Act" similar to that which we saw in Wyoming.

This law will make "any federal law banning semi-automatic handguns or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state's boundaries."

Not only will this put Texas shoulder-to-shoulder with Wyoming in making it a felony for anyone--including federal agents--to try to enforce new gun control, but according to the Tenth Amendment Center it is in perfect harmony with the actions of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, "who has already filed over twenty-three lawsuits against the federal government."

As The Blaze TV’s S.E. Cupp was wrapping up Tuesday’s edition “The Cycle,” MSNBC host Martin Bashir couldn’t help but antagonize Cupp over gun control during the live “toss” into his show.

During her “Per S.E” segment, Cupp urged anti-gun advocates to stop trying to “scare and confuse the public to advance a political agenda.”

On that note, Cupp, a responsible gun owner herself, went over some of the most misused terms in the gun debate, including “rapid fire,” “assault weapons,” and “high capacity ammunition.”

“So lets forgo the arbitrary, ambiguous fear mongering terms and get real specific about what we actually mean by gun control,” she said. “It may be politically effective to rail against ‘rapid fire, high capacity assault weapons,’ but it doesn’t actually mean anything. So if we are serious about solving gun crime, we should at least start by getting the terms right.”

The 41-year-old Florida senator and the 42-year-old Wisconsin congressman have quietly been discussing whether they can team up on the hot-button issue in the new Congress. If they do partner, not only would it neutralize the issue in a possible presidential primary fight, it would be a major sign that the next generation of Republican leaders are eager to move past the raw immigration politics that have sent Latino voters in droves to the Democratic Party.

After taking power in the 1994 elections, Republicans took a stricter approach by teaching their members to never oppose the leadership on these motions. That has become doubly so for any previous question vote. And it’s not uncommon to hear the advice: “You can be against us on the rule but stay on the previous question.”

Both parties have adopted the strategy of quickly moving to table any rule if the previous question is defeated. Perhaps stunned by the defeat, Democrats did not do so with Michel in 1981. But a tabling motion takes precedence and offers a face-saving way for any speaker to regroup later in the Rules Committee.

For all these reasons, repeating the Michel coup today would be immensely difficult. But the path is there, as well illustrated by the late movement of then-Rep. John Breaux.

We the People, the rightful masters of this Republic, will either rise up through Congress and the states or we can trade in our birthright of liberty for the chains of a technocratic slavery. Below we list some of the more egregious acts of seditious treason against the Republic of the United States. Anyone who wishes to continue to live in a free country and to pass that birthright on to their children must research this document and then lobby state legislatures and the Congress to do their duty and remove the would-be dictator.
The time has now come for a bill of impeachment to be introduced and debated in Congress. Obama’s crimes are public, and the debate in the House will serve as a court in which to display the tyrannical activities of President Obama and his cohorts. As in the case of Richard Nixon, the exposure of Obama’s crimes may cause him to resign in disgrace. If he does not step down, the full House will then vote to begin the impeachment trial in the US Senate. The time has now come to make your decision – to stand up to evil or get on your knees as a willing slave.

Freezing weather with light snow flurries greeted about 200 climate activists gathered on the steps of the state Capitol noon Monday to demand the state Legislature get serious about climate change.

The climate rally unfolded four hours after the highest predicted tide of 2013 in Budd Inlet. Climate activists draw attention to the winter high tides, calling them a precursor of a future shoreline under siege from sea-level rise.

The irony of Monday’s cold weather compared to a global climate that is heating due to a carbon dioxide buildup in the atmosphere was not lost on the crowd, or some of the speakers.
