The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)
It was a matter of public record that Huma Abedin, Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton—and thus having access to top secret information—has deep ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
It was a matter of public record that the Council on Islamic American relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), both determined to be Muslim Brotherhood front groups and unindicted co-conspirators in the terrorist-funding trial United States v. Holy Land Foundation—had visited the White House, State Department, FBI, etc. hundreds of times.

This is how our government schools – and the liberals who run them – effectively brainwash (though indoctrinate is a much more polite word) our children into accepting the liberal philosophy as basic truth.  This particular worksheet is meant to help your government student “understand the distributive property.”  Now I’m not a dreary slouch at math … but this is the first time in my life I’ve ever heard of the distributive property.  I strongly suspect that pretty much any student can move through school to a very successful life as a productive adult without ever having heard those words.  Really … look at this Bolshoi.  “6 groups of (3+5) = 6 groups of 3 + 6 groups of 5”  I challenge any government school teacher to call the show today and tell me why this is important.  What’s important is that the student be able to figure out what 3+5 equals (8) and that 6x8 = 48.

Tough federal emissions standards are being blamed for the closure of 15 coal-fired plants and the loss of nearly 480 jobs in Georgia.
Georgia Power plans to close the power plants, cutting its grid capacity by more than 15 percent, in a move the utility said was necessary to comply with federal regulations aimed at reducing air pollution.
"We recognize the significant impact that these retirements will have on the local communities and we took that into account when making these decisions," said Georgia Power President and CEO Paul Bowers. "These decisions were made after extensive analysis and are necessary in order for us to maintain our commitment to provide the most reliable and affordable electricity to our customers."

Unions, before they were taken over by DSA in 1995, were traditionally anti-illegal immigration. Why the change?

The reason is simple. Marxist led unions do not care about getting a better deal for their members. They care about achieving socialism. They understand that Latinos, which illegals mostly are, tend to vote overwhelmingly Democrat. The Marxists also have huge influence in the Democrat Party and huge leverage over Democrat policy formation, through their lock-tight control of organized labor.

Therefore, giving illegals citizenship and voting rights could move America way to the left – forever.

It’s a strange thing when, in a democracy*, dissent is stifled by those that presume to value dissent.
Notwithstanding the union-backed effort to end Senate filibusters, time and time again, both publicly and behind-the-scenes, Barack Obama and his union cronies and backers work to stifle–even purge and eradicate–any form of dissent if it does not benefit union bosses.
What’s worse is the fact that this trend is becoming the official labor policy of the United States.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The opening act of the new Congress was supposed to be about an emboldened president putting all his political muscle into reforming the country’s immigration system, gun policies and budget. But instead, Obama appears likely to be dragged into a grinding personnel fight where he’ll have to expend significant political capital to fill out his Cabinet.

With an expanded Democratic majority in the Senate, Obama could very well see all of his nominees confirmed. But the GOP will extract a price — Republicans are poised to hold up nominees to make their political points on issues ranging from the debt to EPA regulations to the Second Amendment.

“When the president chooses to pick a fight or to go through a bruising nomination, that’s got a real downside for the president,” Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.) warned Tuesday. “What happens is everything backs up, and there’s enough of that problem already today.”Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/01/lessons-learned-obama-takes-fights-to-congress-85936.html#ixzz2HWbwkVxU

A bankrupt Massachusetts solar company that received more than $30 million in state funds continues to cost taxpayers money in the form of special unemployment assistance from the Department of Labor, according to a Wednesday press release.

Labor announced a $408,403 National Emergency Grant increment for continued assistance to roughly 320 workers affected by the 2011 closure of Evergreen Solar Inc.

This latest block of aid brings the total funds awarded for the project to $738,179.

“The former workers of Evergreen Solar continue to face significant obstacles in finding good jobs in their region,” Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis said in a statement. “This funding will make it possible for these workers to receive training and reemployment services to help them find good jobs.”

The Sandy measure contains substantial spending to replace government assets damaged or destroyed by the storm. Especially in an entity as large as the federal government, it's hard to believe that officials couldn't find vehicles from elsewhere to replace those destroyed, or reprogram existing money to fix damaged buildings.
And, as we've argued previously, it's time to reform the chronically underfinanced federal flood insurance program so taxpayers in Nebraska don't end up repeatedly subsidizing beach homes. It encourages repeated rebuilding in flood-prone areas

Unemployment and the burden it imposes are very unequally distributed across the population. Young workers, employees in cyclically sensitive industries like construction and manufacturing, and members of historically disadvantaged minorities are more likely to suffer layoffs than other workers. The labor income of most unemployed workers falls to zero, and only part of it is replaced by unemployment compensation and other social benefits. Workers who lose their jobs after short spells of employment or who become unemployed after leaving school or rejoining the labor force seldom qualify for any unemployment benefits at all.
