When all government, in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the Center of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated. — Thomas Jefferson

Government-mandated and union-backed project labor agreements (PLAs) are increasing costs on taxpayer-funded projects across the country even as local, state, and federal governments face a budget crunch.
A PLA sets construction conditions on bidding for federally funded projects. While the conditions for each PLA vary depending on the locale within which they are passed, they frequently require employees to join a union or force contractors to employ union labor exclusively.
PLAs also “require [non-union] contractors to pay their workers’ health and retirement benefits to union trust funds,” causing the contractors to pay workers’ benefits twice—once for the union and once for their company plan

Though the Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate forcing employers to violate their conscience by providing birth control and pills that cause abortions has been temporarily stoppedtoday in a Federal District Court, there is no question the Obama Administration will appeal all the way up to the Supreme Court.

This is the fight of our time. Either this country will stand for religious freedom, or it won't. And we will know the answer if the courts allow the government (by way of the HHS to brazenly) violate the First Amendment by forcing individuals to fund birth control and the abomination of abortion.

George Orwell once said that some ideas are so foolish that only an intellectual could believe them. Multiculturalism is one of those ideas. The intelligentsia burst into indignation or outrage at "gaps" or "disparities" in educational, economic or other outcomes -- and denounce any cultural explanation of these group differences as "blaming the victim."

Yet intellectuals see themselves as friends, allies and defenders of racial minorities, even as they paint them into a corner of cultural stagnation. This allows the intelligentsia to flatter themselves that they are on the side of the angels against the forces of evil that are conspiring to keep minorities down.
When they cannot come up with hard evidence in any particular case to support this theory today, that just proves to the intelligentsia how fiendishly clever and covert these pervasive efforts to hold down minorities are.

ABC News really knows how to cause a coffee spit-take. All you have to do is introduce George Stephanopoulos talking to President Obama and put these hyperbolic words on screen: "No Holds Barred."
To be fair, the questions were about policy, including budget matters and North Korea. But they weren't challenging. Ask any conservative Republican about "no holds barred" media questions, and I'll show you the tire tracks on his back. Here's the kind of tough questions the president will never get:
1. When are you going to address how your administration failed to protect our diplomats in Benghazi? Why is Susan Rice still being considered for jobs after she was sent out to lie about the causes of Benghazi on five Sunday news shows?
2. Why does your administration prefer to kill foreign terrorists in drone attacks rather than capturing them for intelligence purposes? And why wasn't there more than one liberal joining Rand Paul's Senate filibuster on the grounds that drone attacks shouldn't kill American citizens who aren't an imminent threat on American soil?

Three diplomatic security agents were among the Americans injured during the terrorist attack last September on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, according to a State Department official speaking exclusively to Fox News.
According to the official, who confirmed Fox's reporting on the condition of anonymity, two were injured, including one “seriously,” at the CIA facility known as the “annex” and a third suffered smoke inhalation at the consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed.

Texas governor Rick Perry had harsh words for President Obama and his administration’s “hysteria” over the sequester during his speech this afternoon at CPAC. After poking fun at the decision to shut down White House tours, Perry’s remarks took a more serious turn. The former 2012 presidential candidate discussed the Department of Homeland Security’s release of undocumented immigrants, calling the move a “federally sponsored jailbreak” that “crossed a line from politics of spin to politics as a craven form of cynicism.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In an interview with former Bill Clinton apparatchik George Stephanopoulos aired on ABC Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama shared his beliefs about where the nation stands financially.
The takeaway quotes from that sit-down concern Obama’s unserious take on the size and grave nature of the federal government’s annual deficits, which have exceeded $1 trillion during each of the past four fiscal years, and the national debt, which, at $16.71 trillion as of Tuesday, has increased by over $6 trillion since he took office less than 50 months ago:
And, y– you know– I think what’s important to recognize is that– we’ve already cut– $2.5– $2.7 trillion out of the deficit. If the sequester stays in, you’ve got over $3.5 trillion of deficit reduction already.
And, so, we don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt

There are so many jaw-dropping moments in “The World According to Dick Cheney” that I’m sure to forget several of them. One comes right at the beginning, when interviewer and co-director R.J. Cutler asks the most “consequential” vice president in American history – that’s Cheney’s word – a series of softball questions to get him warmed up. Cheney looks undeniably older and thinner after his recent heart transplant (talk about jokes that write themselves!), and he does deliver a few minuscule nuggets of warm-and-fuzzy: Happiness is fly-fishing on the Snake River, and misery is the loss of a family member. In case you’ve been wondering, his favorite food is spaghetti. Then Cutler asks Cheney about his biggest flaw. It’s a standard Barbara Walters-style question, for which every skilled politician has a faux-humble answer at the ready.

Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands? — Patrick Henry

President Obama will speak to a collection of wealthy donors and activists Wednesday evening at a luxury hotel near the White House. The event is called the “Founders Summit,” and it is the second major donor meeting for the president’s new dark money group, Organizing for Action (OFA). Reporters will not be permitted to attend the speech.
The tax-exempt 501(c)(4) has drawn scrutiny from liberal watchdog groups and the New York Times editorial board for, among other things, a reported scheme that would grant donors who give or raise $500,000 quarterly meetings with the president.

Former American International Group (AIG) CEO Hank Greenberg accused the Obama administration Wednesday of threatening the company not to join a class action lawsuit that he has brought against the federal government over the terms of the 2008 AIG bailout. Minutes of an AIG Board of Directors' meeting in January 2013 appear to support Greenberg's claim.

Frances Bivens, the lawyer who represents the U.S. Treasury in the case, warned AIG's board that if it joined the lawsuit, the company could face "another wave of congressional investigations" and public embarrassment.

Press release: new motion filed in Grinols with an affidavit of process server, showing that Obama is evading legal service of process

Law offices of Orly Taitz

A new motion was filed today in Grinols v Electoral College. Originally presiding judge Morrison England refused to grant Default Judgment against Obama due to the fact that Plaintiffs served Obama through the US Attorneys’ office and not at his residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Yesterday attorney Orly Taitz filed a reconsideration motion and attached sworn affidaits from process servers, showing that Obama refuses to accept legal service of process at his residence and demands to be served through the Department of Justice, even in cases, where he is sued as an individual, such as the case at hand where he is sued for elections fraud and use of forged IDs during the 2012 Presidential election. Obama has no right to use taxpayer funds to pay for his defense, yet taxpayer funds are being de facto stolen by the U.S. Department of Justice under the leadership of his friend Eric Holder,

The desire of intellectuals for some grand theory that will explain complex patterns with some solitary and simple factor has produced many ideas that do not stand up under scrutiny, but which have nevertheless had widespread acceptance -- and sometimes catastrophic consequences -- in countries around the world.
The theory of genetic determinism which dominated the early 20th century led to many harmful consequences, ranging from racial segregation and discrimination up to and including the Holocaust. The currently prevailing theory is that malice of one sort or another explains group differences in outcomes. Whether the lethal results of this theory would add up to as many murders as in the Holocaust is a question whose answer would require a detailed study of the history of lethal outbursts against groups hated for their success.

The organizing arm of the never ending Obama campaign, Organizing for Action, sent out an email to supporters yesterday telling them "this isn't meant to scare you" but....your kids are no longer safe at school thanks to sequester. Not surprisingly, they're using children who will go without food to make their argument.

While I'm generally no fan of new laws, a law that prohibits stupid laws is a definite exception. And that's just what the great state of Mississippi is giving us by passing legislation that would prohibit localities from limiting food portion sizes, forcing restaurants to list calorie counts on menus, and banning the inclusion of toys with meals. The bill was inspired by Little Big Gulp (the man some still call Mayor Michael Bloomberg), whose current mission is to ensure that human life may not be endangered via imprudent use of fat, sugar, or bullets, but only through abortion.

There were few complaints at the Woodruff polls as South Carolina's new voter photo ID requirement was enforced for the first time in Spartanburg County.
The re-do election for mayor in Woodruff is the first Spartanburg County election since the photo ID requirement went into effect Jan. 1. The law requires voters to show a S.C. driver's license, Department of Motor Vehicles ID card, voter registration card with photo, federal military ID or a United States passport to cast a ballot. The law also contains a broad range of “reasonable impediment” exemptions, which require voters to sign an affidavit stating why they do not have a photo ID, and allows them to cast a provisional ballot.

While extending the payroll tax cut through the end of last year, members of Congress last fall took what many feel was a long overdue whack at the cost of their retirement plan. They bumped up the rate at which federal employees contribute to their pension plan, saving an estimated $15 billion over the next 11 years.
They also made sure that none of the increase applied to themselves. Anyone in service before the law went into effect would pay into the pension plan at the old rate.
For all the talk you hear from Capitol Hill about running government more like a business, Congress has a retirement plan that would make any Fortune 500 executive blush. Members can retire younger, having contributed fewer of their own dollars, than almost any worker in the country — even more than the generous terms other federal workers get.

The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principles on which it was founded. — Charles-Louis De Secondat

Rep. Mike Rogers (R., Mich.), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said he has no doubt about the state-sponsored origins of Chinese cyber attacks.

“Beyond a shadow of a doubt, [the Chinese] use their military and intelligence structure to steal intellectual property from American businesses and European businesses and Asian businesses, repurpose it, and then compete in the international market against the United States,” Rogers said Feb. 24 on ABC’s “This Week.”

“It is unprecedented,” Rogers added. “This has never happened in the history of the world where one nation steals the intellectual property to repurpose it to illegally compete against a country.”

“And I’ll tell you, it is as bad as I’ve ever seen it and exponentially getting worse,” Rogers said. “Why? There’s no consequence for it.”

Kenneth deGraffenreid, a former Reagan administration White House intelligence director, said the duration, intensity, breadth, and persistence of the Chinese cyber attack threat reflects the long term strategic challenge China poses to the United States.

Fifty years after the atom bomb, Hiroshima and Nagasaki are gleaming, thriving metropolises. After 50 years of failed government promises in Detroit, the money has dried up, welfare has run out and the city is headed for fire sale. With cities and states across the USA not far behind and teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, Detroit is no longer just a punch line. It is a warning of the future to come for millions of Americans.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
President Barack Obama and Michelle used to talk frequently about how the White House was the “people’s house.” In fact, the White House website nowcarries this quote from the First Lady: “It’s the ‘People’s House.’ It’s a place that is steeped in history, but it’s also a place where everyone should feel welcome. And that’s why my husband and I have made it our mission to open up the house to as many people as we can.”

So much for that nonsense. The same week that President Obama’s administration announced that due to sequestration, White House tours would be cancelled, sources at the White House announced that it would be hosting megastars Adele and Beyonce at Michelle’s 50th birthday party next year. “America’s First Lady will be holding a huge celebrity-packed party for her birthday at the White House next year and, as she adores Adele and Beyonce, she has asked them both to sing,” the source told the UK Daily Mail. The source did say that “The Obamas will pay Adele’s expenses as it’s a private party, not a State one.”

While the lawsuit over the sale of Al Gore’s Current TV to Al Jazeera is making headlines, a close reading of the legal complaint provides additional evidence that a congressional investigation into the curious transaction is urgently needed and necessary.

The media executive who claims to have arranged the sale says the idea was to make the Terror TV channel “palatable to U.S. lawmakers,” a formulation that suggests foreign lobbying on Capitol Hill in order to protect the $500 million payoff to Gore and other owners and investors in Current TV.

The suit says that media executive John Terenzio also proposed smoothing things over with “pro-Israel factions, cable operators and, most importantly, the American public.”

The other controversial aspect of the deal, as noted by Fox News contributor Lisa Daftari, is that “Al Jazeera America” has announced plans for bureaus in eight cities, including Detroit, Michigan, and that “Detroit, Michigan is a large ex-pat community of Muslim-Americans where [Jihadist] sleeper cells have been detected.”

Detroit has been called the Arab capital of North America.

The sequester was President Obama’s idea back in  2011 to begin with.  He thought it was an effective extortion tool to force  Republicans to do things his way, because he was not willing to compromise on  anything.  But it backfired and the Republicans for once stood their ground  and called the president’s bluff.
Like all bullies, Obama is blaming the Republicans for his sequester and he  is doing his best to make it hurt the public as much as possible so that they  will blame the GOP.  An email  that was leaked by a Department of Agriculture field officer indicated that  the Obama administration had given instructions to make the sequestration cuts  hurt Americans as much as possible.
Rep.  Tim Griffin (R-AR) commented on the leaked email, saying:
“This email confirms what many Americans have suspected: The Obama  administration is doing everything they can to make sure their worst predictions  come true and to maximize the pain of the sequester cuts for political  gain.”
“You can’t do anything that is inconsistent with the negative impact that  we’ve told everybody these cuts are going to have.”

Three brilliant black leaders are tuning out Obama and the black community needs to tune into these leaders.
I’m surfing between the major news networks on a recent evening and I catch FOX News Channel’s Sean Hannity in the middle of an amazing interview with a guest named Harry Alford, the CEO and co-founder of the Black Chamber of Commerce.
My jaw drops as Alford essentially calls Obama an anti-business tyrant who is hurting the African American community; he says he voted for Obama in 2008 but now has buyer’s remorse.
I get to thinking: Given the choice between Alford and Obama, why do many blacks still choose Obama? Why does Obama have an 88 percent approval rating among African Americans while his overall approval sits at 47 percent? After all, what has Obama done to help African Americans?
I am concerned and puzzled because the black community seems to be ignoring the wisdom of successful black leaders in business, medicine and journalism. Let me introduce you to three black leaders who are challenging the president’s policies:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Consider that we have a president whose word simply cannot be trusted. Alan Caruba calls him a "Wannabe Dictator" and Obama's own words prove the case. He bypasses Congress at every turn and his executive orders "grant [him] total power over every aspect of life in America in the event of an emergency or attack." Additionally Obama has learned well the import of Hitler's comment that "all propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach."
Additionally, Obama is just fine with
• A Department of Justice memo outlining his plan to kill American citizens at will.
• A Marxist aversion to capitalism, the engine that has made America so successful.
• An unrelenting assault on rich people, while hypocritically taking their donations for his own use and all the while actually threatening the livelihood of the middle class.
• A constant and unremitting debt that threatens to destroy the fabric of this country. In this clip Ronald Reagan "warned us about Obama." since it is completely unsustainable for any country to maintain such debt.
• Deluging the country with immigration reform that threatens to add at least seven million people to Obamacare.
• The continuing breach of law in order to bring undocumented people into the Democratic party, a crass and boldfaced move if ever there was one.
• The incremental effort to disarm American citizens.
• Stonewalling on Benghazi.

U.S. courts are loath to overrule the administration whenever it cites national security. A federal judge, Colleen McMahon of New York, in January ruled against The New York Times and the American Civil Liberties Union to see records about the government's legal justification for drone attacks and other methods it has used to kill terrorism suspects overseas, including American citizens. She cited an "Alice in Wonderland" predicament in which she was expected to determine what information should be revealed but unable to challenge the government's secrecy claim. Part of her ruling was sealed and made available only to the government's lawyers.
"I find myself stuck in a paradoxical situation in which I cannot solve a problem because of contradictory constraints and rules - a veritable Catch-22," the judge wrote. "I can find no way around the thicket of laws and precedents that effectively allow the executive branch of our government to proclaim as perfectly lawful certain actions that seem on their face incompatible with our Constitution and laws, while keeping the reasons for their conclusion a secret."
The AP could not determine whether the administration was abusing the national security exemption or whether the public was asking for more documents about sensitive subjects. Nearly half the Pentagon's 2,390 denials last year under that clause came from the National Security Agency, which monitors Internet traffic and phone calls worldwide.
"FOIA is an imperfect law, and I don't think that's changed over the last four years since Obama took office," said Alexander Abdo, an ACLU staff attorney for its national security project. "We've seen a meteoric rise in the number of claims to protect secret law, the government's interpretations of laws or its understanding of its own authority. In some ways, the Obama administration is actually even more aggressive on secrecy than the Bush administration."
The Obama administration also more frequently invoked the law's "deliberative process" exception to withhold records describing decision-making behind the scenes. Obama had directed agencies to use it less often, but the number of such cases had surged after his first year in office to more than 71,000. After back-to-back years when figures steadily declined, the government cited that reason 66,353 times last year to keep records or parts of records secret.

This morning you were required to get out of bed an hour earlier than you rose last Monday. If you are like most people, you did so in the same spirit of resignation with which you endure winter rain, believing that there are benefits to be gained from Daylight Saving Time that outweigh its discomfort and inconvenience. This belief, however, has no basis in reality. Unlike cold rain, which at least provides sustenance for the land and its inhabitants, DST offers no benefit whatsoever. Indeed, evidence is mounting that it actually constitutes a threat to your health and adds substantially to the cost of American medical care.

This, you may think, is an exaggeration perpetrated by a late riser rendered cranky by the necessity of getting up an hour before his body clock is ready to deal with the travails of Monday morning. But, while I confess to considerable irritation at this prospect, it is nonetheless true that the change to DST is bad for your health. As Bora Zivkovic writes in Scientific American, “Chronobiologists who study circadian rhythms know that for several days after the spring-forward clock resetting … traffic accidents increase, workplace injuries go up and, perhaps most telling, incidences of heart attacks rise sharply.”

Life, faculties, production — in other words, individuality, liberty, property — this is man. And in spite of the cunning of artful political leaders, these three gifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place. — Frederic Bastiat, The Law

In his last State of the City address, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg bragged about his huge taxpayer investments in education. “Now, let me ask you: is there anyone who still believes that New York City can’t get big things done? Since we’re here in Brooklyn, I’ll say it again: Fuhgeddaboudit.”

Bloomberg was right about one thing only: forgetting about it. Because not only are big things not getting done in New York City on education, even small things aren’t getting done. According to officials from City University of New York, a full 80 percent of high school graduates in New York City can’t read when they graduate. As CBS Local reports, “They had to re-learn basic skills – reading, writing, and math – first before they could begin college courses.”

And that’s for the students who graduate. New York City has the lowest graduation ratefor black and Hispanic male students in the nation, with only 37 percent graduating. But teachers start off making $45,530 with benefits, and max out at over $100,000.

He is an unlawful enemy combatant, captured on foreign soil while engaged in hostilities against the United States. He belongs in the military justice system and detention facility established by Congress in accordance with the Constitution and the Supreme Court. Yet President Barack Obama has brought Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, son-in-law of Osama bin Laden, to face a civilian trial on U.S. soil in federal court in New York City.

In so doing, President Obama has defied the express will of Congress, which already refused to transfer foreign terror suspects from the Guantánamo Bay prison to the U.S. at the beginning of Obama’s first term. The decision to bring Abu Ghaith to New York is just the latest in a series of executive actions taken by President Obama that contradict the explicit intent of the legislature. It is also an action in pursuit of a policy doomed to fail.

Lisa Jackson otherwise to be known now apparently as the German Josef Rudolf Mengele the Angel of Death during Nazi Germany, faded abruptly into the sunset post-haste a month ago. Perhaps now know why.It was learned that she had been using e-mail addy's under a fictious name and there were those who wanted to read them.. She was conducting medical experiments that harken back the a dark period from the last century. We do know where this playbook goes don't we. Even more disturbing is the ruling in the case. Not because of the horrendous action, but some small legal point. Wait until we have Obamacare. Let the chilling video below be a reminder and a warning what happened just decades ago.
“This is a complete link between the Windsor email address and Jackson,” a source with direct knowledge of the agency said in an email.

Last week, The Daily Caller News Foundation reported that Jackson was allegedly using a secret “alias” email account under the name “Richard Windsor.” On Monday, The DCNF confirmed that the Windsor account was in use, citing an email released by a liberal group from earlier this year Daily Caller

A federal judge decided to shut down the lawsuit rather than the government’s human experimentation program.

To Judge Trenga, however, the important thing apparently was to nitpick to death the effort to stop the experiments with a narrow reading of the federal rules of civil procedure.

Judge Trenga determined that the EPA’s decision to endanger the lives of its study subjects, including inducing them to sign a fraudulent consent form, did not constitute a “final agency action” under the Administrative Procedures Act. Judge Trenga also determined, as the American Tradition Institute was not being harmed by the experiments, it didn’t have standing to pursue the case. Now the story:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If our officers can spend less time looking for small pen knives and more time looking for explosive devices, we’re better at doing our job of protecting the safety of the American people,” TSA spokesman David Castelveter said Thursday. “A small knife will not enable a terrorist to bring down an airplane.”

Castelveter said aviation agencies have added new levels of security to prevent the type incidents that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, when terrorists hijacked three planes using box cutters. Cockpit doors are now heavily fortified, and the TSA now uses behavior-detection officers to help identify potential attackers, he said.

But labor groups say the new policy is dangerous.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In January, pretty much all of respectable Washington had a sense of where President Barack Obama’s second term was headed. His approval ratings were sky high. His liberalism was pure and untroubled by thoughts of post-partisanship. His second-term agenda of immigration reform, gun control, climate change, and tax reform was clear. He would roll over the opposition. The dawn of a liberal age—a permanent majority, perhaps—was at hand. Stinking Republicans? Obama didn’t need them.

The president, wrote Politico’s Glenn Thrush, had “a new mandate—achieving bipartisan results through force, not conciliation.” Obama was “armed with an approval rating in the 50s.” He had “decided the only way he can defeat hill Republicans is to muster public opinion against them.”

John Dickerson of Slate and CBS News wrote, “Obama’s gambit in 2009 was to build a new post-partisan consensus. That didn’t work.” The president would have to go around the Republicans because “they cannot be unchained by schmoozing.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Tuesday, the nation — or at least the part that’s still paying attention — learned that President Barack Obama’s administration, in what can only be seen as an incredibly petty and virulently vindictive response to spending “cuts” imposed by sequestration (properly described in most cases as “reductions in projected spending increases”), decided to cancel all tours of the White House beginning March 9.
As a result, to name just one of what are surely many examples, sixth graders at an Iowa elementary school which had received approval to take a March 16 tour learned, barring what would seem to be a quixotic effort to change White House minds via Facebook, that it’s not going to happen. They’re reportedly going to make their trip to Washington anyway, because, according to the school’s principal, it’s an important opportunity for them to “find out more about how the government works.” They’ve clearly already learned quite a bit.
So have we.
The tours are run by volunteers. According to an estimate worked up by ABC News on Wednesday, the White House will save $18,000 per week by not utilizing 30 Secret Service agents during the tours. Even that savings figure is suspect, as original reports about the tours’ cancellation claimed that “Uniformed Division Officers assigned to the public tours will be reassigned to other security posts,” which “will reduce overtime costs as well as potential furloughs that could have been required.”

The U.N. Security Council unanimously passed tougher sanctions against North Korea Thursday targeting the secretive nation's nuclear program hours after Pyongyang threatened a possible "preemptive nuclear attack."

"These sanctions will bite, and bite hard," U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said after the vote.

China, North Korea's key ally, could have used its veto power to block the sanctions. Instead, after weeks of negotiating, it signed on to the final draft.

"China is a country of principle," China's U.N. Ambassador Li Baodong said. "We are firmly committed to safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean peninsula."

President Barack Obama’s half-brother, Abong’o Malik Obama, won’t be the second member of his family to launch a political career. Mr. Obama was defeated in his bid to be governor of Kenya’s Siaya County this week by what seems to have been a very large margin.
Mr. Obama is the eldest child of President Obama’s father. They have different mothers. Mr. Obama served as the best man at the president’s wedding to Michelle Obama in 1992.

A top U.S. Treasury Department official promised Congress his department would pressure the European Union to designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and force European banks to stop ongoing transactions with Iran.
Sen. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) pressed Treasury undersecretary David Cohen to make the commitment during a Thursday hearing held by the Senate Banking Committee.
Cohen’s promise to get tough with the Europeans is being viewed as a victory for Kirk, who has pushed the EU to act on both issues.

A right, such as a right to free speech, imposes no obligation on another, except that of non-interference. The so-called right to health care, food or housing, whether a person can afford it or not, is something entirely different; it does impose an obligation on another. If one person has a right to something he didn’t produce, simultaneously and of necessity it means that some other person does not have right to something he did produce. That’s because, since there’s no Santa Claus or Tooth Fairy, in order for government to give one American a dollar, it must, through intimidation, threats and coercion, confiscate that dollar from some other American.— Walter Williams

On March 4, despite hundreds of Coloradans flooding the State Capitol in Denver and honking horns on the streets that encircle the building all day long, and the presence of 25 county sheriffs opposed to seven Democratic gun-control proposals, the measures all passed the Colorado House along party-line votes. Democrats currently control both houses of the Colorado legislature, as well as the governor’s office. Legislators’ testimony during the hearings was replete with smug, ignorant sanctimony, blithering idiocy and outright lies.

Florida State Senator Audrey Gibson (D-Jacksonville) introduced legislation on Saturday that would require a three day waiting period for the sale of any firearm and the sale of ammunition for anyone who has not completed an anger management course first.

Critics of Gibson say she is the “latest example of local lawmakers reaching for constitutionally-dubious solutions to the problem of gun violence.” I say she is violating her oath of office and is committing treason by such actions
When are we going to put an end to this mess and start removing these people from office and charging them with violating their oath of office? When are we going to hold them accountable for their actions? As Edmund Burke once said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not do sit by and do nothing.”Read more: http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/03/democrat-bill-requires-anger-management-course-for-ammunition-purchases/#ixzz2MrAKQDkE

Well thanks to the GOP led House who voted 267-151 on Wednesday to approve a $982 billion continuing resolution (CR), H R 933, Obamacare will be fully funded for the remainder of fiscal year 2013, as Marines and other departments of national defense are seeing less of an increase in their projected spending.

Ever wonder why police chiefs from big, crime ridden cities are always chosen to testify before the Senate about gun control while sheriffs are often ignored? Police chiefs are appointed. They simply serve as politicians and mouth pieces for their city councils and liberal mayors. This is the case in anti-self defense Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington D.C. Milwaukee etc. Sheriffs on the other hand are elected and represent the voices of the people they serve.
On Monday Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, the sheriff who sent out a public service announcement encouraging residents to learn how to use a firearm in order to protect themselves, sent a letter to Senator Lindsey Graham apologizing on behalf of his constituents for the "embarrassing" behavior of Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn at a recent subcommittee hearing. Flynn shilled for more gun control just like Baltimore County Police Chief James Johnson did during a gun violence hearing back in January.

"It's not the Democratic party anymore. It's the Obama party."

"Architect" Karl Rove may have maintained the blueprint of the Bush campaign, but according to Taddeo: David Plouffe, Obama's 2008 campaign manager, has a list.

That contact list -- thirteen-million-Obama-supporters-long at the time -- made Plouffe the master of a "many million-mouthed dog." And, wrote Taddeo, Obama "has instructed him to make that list a new lever of government."

The "fulsome pulsing beast" 2009 version of OFA was to be unleashed by Plouffe, according to Taddeo, whenever Obama had a policy initiative he wanted to push, a message he needed to disseminate, or a gaffe he wanted to bat down.

As summed up in Esquire: "In the new DNC -- in Organizing for America -- you will work full-time for the DNC and Obama's goals, or you will not work for them at all."

The National Shooting Sportsman’s Foundation is focusing its efforts at the state level in Connecticut. The group, which represents 8,000 gun manufacturers and gun retailers, started running three TV ads statewide Tuesday on cable featuring the companies Colt, Stag Arms and Mossberg and the economic benefit they bring to the state. State lawmakers and Gov. Dan Malloy are looking at a slew of guns provisions.
Gun Owners of America’s Erich Pratt said that the group has also increased its intensity. In particular, GOA has focused on reaching out to its members in Oklahoma to make calls to Sen. Tom Coburn’s office. The group is trying to increase pressure on the Oklahoma Republican against joining Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer of New York and Joe Manchin of West Virginia.

“Our efforts are focusing on not only the floor fight on the Senate side but also looking ahead to the House, as well,” Pratt said, adding that they are making the case to House leaders that they should feel no pressure to bring up legislation since the chamber often passes legislation the Senate never takes up.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte on Tuesday released an internal U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) document showing that the agency planned to release thousands of illegal aliens from detention centers in response to cuts resulting from sequestration.

The document revealed that from Feb. 15 to March 31, 2013, ICE planned to release 1,000 detainees a week, reducing their detainee numbers from 30,748 to 26,748 — well below the 34,000 mandated by Congress, Goodlatte noted.

“An internal document obtained by the House Judiciary Committee shows that Administration officials at ICE prepared cold calculations to release thousands of criminal aliens onto the streets and did not demonstrate any consideration of the impact this decision would have on the safety of Americans,” Goodlatte said in a statement, asserting that the decision “undermines” the Department of Homeland Security’s mission and makes Americans “less safe.”

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul launched a filibuster Wednesday against President Obama’s CIA nominee John Brennan as a way to highlight extrajudicial killings and the potential use of drones in the United States.
“I won’t be able to speak forever, but I’m going to speak as long as I can,” Paul said as he began an old-fashioned talking filibuster. The senator is delaying a vote on Brennan’s nomination.
“When we ask the president ‘Can you kill Americans on American soil with drone strikes?’ it should be an easy answer,” he continued.

SEOUL, South Korea -- North Korea is vowing a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States. The harsh rhetoric Thursday comes hours ahead of a vote by U.N. diplomats on whether to level new sanctions against Pyongyang for its recent nuclear test.
An unidentified spokesman for Pyongyang's Foreign Ministry said the North will exercise its right for "pre-emptive nuclear strikes on the headquarters of the aggressors" because Washington is pushing to start a nuclear war against the North.
Such inflammatory rhetoric is common from North Korea. But it has been coming regularly in recent days. North Korea is angry over the possible sanctions and over upcoming U.S.-South Korean military drills.

When the Attorney General of the United States admits some banks are simply too big to prosecute, it might be time to admit we have a problem -- and that goes for both the financial and justice systems.
Eric Holder made this rather startling confession in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, The Hill reports. It could be a key moment in the debate over whether to do something about the size and complexity of our biggest banks, which have only gotten bigger and more systemically important since the financial crisis.
"I am concerned that the size of some of these institutions becomes so large that it does become difficult for us to prosecute them when we are hit with indications that if you do prosecute, if you do bring a criminal charge, it will have a negative impact on the national economy, perhaps even the world economy," Holder said, according to The Hill. "And I think that is a function of the fact that some of these institutions have become too large."

At a news conference last Friday, President Obama claimed that, “starting tomorrow,” the “folks cleaning the floors at the Capitol” had “just got a pay cut” because of the automatic federal spending cuts known as the sequester.
The president very quickly earned Four Pinocchios for that statement, especially after senior officials at the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), the federal agency that employ janitors on the House side, and the office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA), which employs janitors on the Senate side, issued statements saying the president’s comments were not true.
Still, the White House has kept up its spin offensive, claiming that a cut in “overtime” was a de facto pay cut and thus the president was right — or at least not wrong.
So, we wondered: How much overtime do Capitol Hill janitors actually make?

Ground beef, sprouts and poultry are among the common supermarket purchases that food safety experts avoid, for fear of getting sick themselves.

After a report last month from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that one in six Americans suffer from a food-borne illness each year, a group of top industry consultants have opened up about the way they shop for groceries.

Raw milk and seafood from South East Asia also came high on the list of produce to avoid, according to the New York Daily News, while one even cautioned against leafy vegetables like lettuce and spinach.
